Jan Gardner is a professional artist based in Conwy. She creates `mixed media` images based on observations and her fascination with colour, form, texture and mark-making. She supplies her work to galleries, both U.K and worldwide and has received several national awards.

In 2007 she was awarded an Arts Council of Wales project grant to research contemporary producers` processing of modern pigments and to explore the origins of her palette. In 2012 she was awarded a grant to develop work from residencies across Britain which was shown in her major solo shows in 2013/2014

Jan has considerable experience with a range of groups and abilities, including projects working with dementia sufferers. Arts in Health projects, with haemodialysis patients and students of all ages throughout the UK. She also leads Residencies and `Master-classes`.

Qualifications

Jan is always experimenting with new ideas. She studied at Winchester School of Art gaining a B.A. Honours in Printed Textiles and post-graduate art therapy qualifications at Hertfordshire College of Art.. She has worked as `Artist in Residence` in a wide range of establishments and exhibits her work across the U.K.
