THIS COURSE IS FOR HAF APPLICANTS FROM WIRRAL OR CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER.

IF YOU ARE FROM A COMMUNITY, VOLUNTARY AND FAITH SECTOR ORGANISATION FROM WIRRAL OR CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER YOU MAY ALSO APPLY, BUT MAY BE ADDED TO A RESERVE LIST.

The course will be based on individual healthy eating and school food standards programmes we deliver and will incorporate recommendations from the Children’s Food Trust (formerly School Food Trust), government food standards, Change4Life and various published journal articles.

• What is healthy eating?
• The health of our children
• History of school food standards
• The facts behind the standards
• Packed Lunch Policies
• Portion Sizes (theory)
• Portion sizes (practical)
• Reducing food waste
• Intro to food safety (we are a Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene provider for RSPH)
• Allergens
• Practical food preparation- delegates will have the opportunity to create a healthy lunch based on info from the course

Note:

• There is a maximum of two places from each organisation.

• Failure to attend the training without giving 2 working days’ notice, will result in a £35 admin charge per place.

• Those organisations that fail to attend training will be shared with the partnership board at decision making.
