Investing in music education prepares students for the 21st century by encouraging them to think creatively and realise there might be more than one right answer to a problem. Making music together will enrich the life of your whole school community. A high-quality music education will engage and inspire pupils to work together, embrace other cultures, explore emotions, build imagination, develop self-confidence and intellectual curiosity. A life enhancing musical journey starts here.
Edsential’s music curriculum teachers, are experienced music teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). For this reason, we sometimes refer to our team as Edsential QTS Musicians. They keep up to date with music curriculum developments and have a thorough understanding of musical progression. Their practical musical skills will ensure that classroom music is a hands-on subject tailored to the particular needs of students in the class, including young instrumentalists.
Edsential has developed a music curriculum progression plan for ages 0 to 12 which is flexible enough to meet the needs of different settings, school topics and children’s musical skills and interests. We can supplement the school’s music resources with our own quality instruments, including sets of world percussion and orchestral instruments. Our teachers work as a team, supporting each other with specialist skills where we feel this will enhance our offer to young people in school. Edsential QTS musicians are also available to lead school bands, orchestras or choirs. Edsential organises concert opportunities in large venues that your school groups and classes can take part in through the year.
Safeguarding the wellbeing of children is of paramount importance to us so all our tutors are subject to enhanced DBS checks and they undertake safeguarding training on a regular basis. Edsential’s music curriculum teaching with a QTS musician is suitable for PPA cover.
Edsential QTS musicians help children and young people to listen, co-operate, concentrate, co-ordinate, develop manual dexterity, self-control, imagination and confidence. We improve young people’s creativity and reflection which enhances their life chances in a rapidly changing world.
