The final Y3C project will take place on three days over two weekends:
Saturday 4th May 10-3pm
Sunday 5th May 12pm to 3pm
Sunday 12th May 12pm to 5pm with ‘Pop-up’ performances between 2pm and 4.30pm at the Museum of Liverpool and another central Liverpool location.
All rehearsals take place at The Brain Charity, Liverpool
Who is leading the choir?
The choir is the vision of Stuart Overington who is known for his engaging, informative and inclusive style working with a wide range of choirs and music ensembles. Stuart has established and directed a number of junior, youth and community choirs across the country including groups at the Royal Northern College of Music, Hallé Orchestra and Chethams School of Music as well as running projects for Opera North and the Royal Opera House.
Stuart Overington will be joined by a number of other experienced choir leaders and voice coaches from across the region making this a fantastic opportunity for young people to benefit from a range of inspirational, talented and skilled musicians.
How do I join?
Y3C Choir is grant funded by Music Education Hub partners so it is free to join.
To join the choir, you need to be resident, or attend school, in one of the following areas: Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, Warrington, Wirral.
Click below to book and complete the online form. Your information will be shared with your local music education hub who may be in touch before the rehearsal date if, for example; the hub is organising transport to the rehearsals.
Places in the choir are limited. We will let you know whether your application has been successful in October and we will also send you the final details of the rehearsals by email.
The Y3C Choir is set up and administered by Edsential Community Interest Company (Cheshire West and Chester and Wirral), Sky Music Hub (Sefton & Knowlsey), Lancashire Music Hub, Resonate Hub (Liverpool), Accent Music Hub (Warrington & Halton), St Helens Music Service.
Information collected on this form will be used by Edsential Community Interest Company and the partner organisations named above in delivering the Y3C for the following purposes:
1. Compile registers for each of the sessions
2. Contact families regarding the organisation of sessions and events of the Y3C
3. Information will be held on site by a small number of staff in accordance with our health and safety
4. Information about individual members may be shared with the local authority where a performance takes place and the member’s home in order to comply with Child Performance Licensing legislation.
Images may be used by Edsential and the partner organisations to promote Y3C choir and music education activities of these organisations.
