Music together showcase concert 20th November 2019

A brilliant night of young music stars

Over 300 children, families and teachers attended a brilliant night of music from local young musicians at the Edsential Music Together Showcase Concert held at Northwich Memorial Hall (20 November).

Opening the show with a rousing drum beat to ‘Fanfare for The Common Man’ by Aaron Copland was the Vale Royal Schools Concert Band conducted by Mairearad Bushnell-Wye and Alex Harper of Edsential.

The was followed by a rendition of Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s song ‘When I Grow Up’, sung with passion and a sense of fun by the Whitley Village School Choir.  Performances were also given by the Vale Royal Super Strings, Kingsmead Primary School Wind Band, St Nicholas Catholic High School Choir, the ‘Brassed Off’ Band from Leftwich County High School, Norley Church of England Primary School and the Rudheath Senior Academy Ensembles.

Alison Corten, Head of Music at Edsential said, “So much hard work goes on behind the scenes with parents, teachers and children making the time to practise their performances and everyone attending tonight very much enjoyed the concert. It’s wonderful to see it all come together in a brilliant celebration of music from children and young people across Cheshire. A really big thank you to everyone who took part.”

The show was closed with the inspiring arrangements of ‘We’re Better Together’ and ‘Sing A Song in Unison’ in a combined choir and band from the various performers.
