An overview of:

• What a good intent statement looks like and how that is translated into practice for children and young people
• How to describe the curriculum in terms of what is being taught, when is it being taught and why is it being taught.
• How to provide supportive challenge on the strategic decisions that are made in curriculum  planning and delivery
• What good teaching and learning looks like from the perspective of a governor

This training provides a safe and open environment to explore the factors that influence emotional wellbeing and asks Governors to reflect on how these factors affect them personally.  The programme considers the relationship between pressure, wellbeing and performance, as well as the drivers for resilience and the attributes of a resilient person.  The workshop is designed for Governors and provides the current provision in this area, what challenges schools are facing and how these challenges can be met and progress made.

Delegates will:

• Understand the intent aspect of curriculum planning
• Understand the Governor’s role in providing support and challenge to the implementation and impact of curriculum delivery
• Have an understanding on the principles of pedagogy that affect effective implementation of the curriculum
