I am an experienced School Improvement Adviser with a background in primary education, technology and local authority advisory services. I became a Deputy Safeguarding Lead for Edsential in 2014 and became the designated Lead in April 2017. I provide advice, support and training to all Edsential employees and to schools, parents and young people on Safeguarding, E-Safety and the application of technology. I have assessed schools for the 360 Degree Safe Quality Mark and I am a CEOP Ambassador. As a result of being passionate about children’s entitlement to a rich, diverse curriculum, I actively promote the safe and effective use of technology.

As an accredited Safer Recruitment trainer I offer schools and child care settings quality-assured Safer Recruitment training from the Safer Recruitment Consortium as well as support and guidance on safeguarding.

Through my work with Governors Services I provide training on the safe use of technology, Safer Recruitment, Academisation, Pupil Premium funding and preparing for Ofsted.

Engaging children in a stimulating and exciting Computing curriculum allows them to create and develop technological responses to the world around them. It is all about identifying problems, solving them and refining solutions. Computing includes making choices about the technology and devices to use, creating with them and developing programs and applications for specific purposes. Underlying all this is the safe and appropriate use of technology and how it impacts on our daily lives.

Pupil’s Voice

Edsential believe children’s opinions and feedback are vital to maintaining effective teaching and learning & therefore improving children’s outcomes.

The Pupil Voice App provides immediate feedback on an individual’s or group’s experience. These responses can shape your provision and give you a baseline to drive improvement and enhance progression.

How the Application is Unique

  • Allows your pupils to quicly respond to questions created by you
  • Create evidence banks to show OFSTED and your stakeholders how pupil’s voices and opinions are shaping school improvement
  • Puts children at the heart of your school
  • Has the potential to change the way you work by challenging you to respond to your pupils’ views,

Safer Recruitment Training

Organisations and individuals who work with children and young people have a duty to safeguard and promote their welfare.

If you recruit staff and/or volunteers into the children and young people’s workforce, you should be trained in safer recruitment practices.

We offer courses and in school support accredited by the Safer Recruitment Consortium that enable delegates to:

  • Identify key features of staff recruitment that help deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people
  • Consider policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure its prompt reporting
  • Begin to review their own organisation’s policies and practices with a view to making them safe
