Edsential’s music curriculum teaching is suitable for PPA cover, or to work alongside class teachers.
Covid-19 If our teachers are not able to visit schools during the Covid-19 period, we will deliver this product remotely through a blend of live video conferencing and pre-recorded video resources. The charge for PPA cover will be reduced to reflect the fact that our teachers will need to work in partnership with a member of school staff present in the classroom.
A high-quality music education will engage and inspire pupils to work together, embrace other cultures, explore emotions, build imagination, develop self-confidence and intellectual curiosity. The Music Makers programme is led by Edsential musicians who keep up to date with music curriculum developments and have a thorough understanding of musical progression. Their practical musical skills will ensure that classroom music is a hands-on subject tailored to the particular needs of students in the class, including young instrumentalists. Edsential has developed a music curriculum progression plan for ages 0 to 12 which is flexible enough to meet the needs of different settings, school topics and children’s musical skills and interests. We can supplement the school’s music resources with our own quality instruments, including sets of world percussion and orchestral instruments. Edsential organises concert opportunities in large venues that your school groups and classes can take part in through the year.
Safeguarding the wellbeing of children is of paramount importance to us so all our tutors are subject to enhanced DBS checks and they undertake safeguarding training on a regular basis.
If Music Makers is used for PPA cover, then the programme will be led by a music teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who will take responsibility for planning and assessment.
Where the school chooses Music Makers to support classroom teachers, our musicians may not have QTS but will be experienced musicians, trained to deliver this progamme. The musician will work alongside the classroom teacher, bringing their musical expertise, and will contribute to the classroom teacher’s planning and assessment.
