Sarah Gallagher-Hayes trained in sculpture at Southampton University and the world famous Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice.

Sarah’s career began when almost immediately upon graduating in 1998 she won her first comission from Kew Gardens, to create a willow lion to represent Aslan in their The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe themed exhibition.  She also began a 3 month residency as Cheshire County Councils willow sculptor, creating site specific work and running workshops.  This generated a lot of press coverage and lead to her producing sculptures for film and television sets as well as public and private commissions.

Sarah now exhibits her work at Chelsea flower show, RHS  Hampton court, Tatton Park, Blenheim Palace and Chatsworth House to name a few.  She has recently finished instaling 8 large sculptures in Glasgow City centre,  an array of animals and reptile sculptures for Chester Zoo and 4 spitfire planes for Chester City Council.

Sarah has designed and made some costumes for the Marvel film Hell boy 3 which is out in Spring 2019.

As well as her private work Sarah delivers willow workshops and mixed media workshops nationally and internationally to adults and children.
