A weekly programme delivering creative music for EYFS and Key Stage 1, covering Early Learning Goals and / or National Curriculum Music outcomes, subject to the age and stage of the class. Teachers will gain practical ideas in planning and delivering music education for early years children and pupils will take part in movement based singing games, listen to and respond to live music played by the Edsential musician and explore the interrelated dimensions of music with high quality percussion instruments.
This exciting, live performance brings well-known stories and rhymes to life through music and narration. Our musicians combine favourite traditional tales with carefully-selected pieces of music from a range of genres to encourage young listeners in exploring music through listening, interactive activities and playing along. Teachers will receive a pdf of pre-visit and post-performance ideas to extend the ideas presented by the musicians to use in the classroom.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, our tutors created a series of pdfs to support children’s musical learning in school with teachers and at home with families. We are pleased to share these resources to encourage parents, carers and education practitioners to explore creative music making with their young children.
